SHINHAN BANK CANADA

Toronto, Ontario

6000 sf.

Concept 2008

This project is a high-end interior fit-out for offices and retail space, located in the heart of the Korean Community in North York. As the Korean Banks’s first branch in Canada, JCI Architects was faced with a challenge to five form to an identity that is distinctly Korean-Canadian while maintaining the standards of the bank’s global branding. One requirement was a retail environment that catered to the unique needs of the East Asian clientele. Project Architect Jaegap Chung’s ability to understand the Korean business culture and communicate with varying levels of seniority in the Bank’s corporation both in Toronto and South Korea played a pivotal role in expediting the construction process while eliminating any issues of misinterpretation or misunderstanding between a Korean client and Canadian authorities, consultants and contractors.
