BASHUNDHARA PENTHOUSE

Dhaka, Bangladesh

23 000 sf.

Concept 2012

Located along a busy street in Bashundhara district, Dhaka, this building seeks to create four vertical penthouse suites secluded with a perimeter garden. The building perimeter is entirely landscaped, with varying planting schemes. This way, residents looking outward are met with a lush view and privacy (a buffer from the busy city), without the sacrifice of natural daylighting and airflow.  Each of the penthouses is a two storey suite, open and spacious, light and airy. The double height suites each contain a feature staircase. The delineation between units registers on the façade, the floorplates visible as thick white bands. A filigree of louvers between bands reinforces the horizontal language of the façade, creating additional privacy for more intimate programs.
