OAA SHIFT AWARD PRESENTATION

OAA CONFERENCE // MAY 22-24, 2019

QUEBEC CITY, QC

Studio JCI was presented with one of seven awards in the inaugural Shift Infrastructure Challenge for our proposal Multi-Tach: Addressing Housing Infrastructure. The OAA sponsored competition “challenged the profession to identify and address an infrastructure issue, either physical or social, where using architectural thinking can advance insight and innovation”. Multi-Tach proposes subtle changes to zoning and planning policy that would allow modest densification of yellow belt neighborhoods in the GTA.

This pragmatic insight addresses the challenging context of creating more affordable housing while respecting existing typology of mass and form.
